Are you a qualified Practice Nurse looking for a new challenge? Our client is a rapidly expanding Healthcare Services organisation, and as part of their growth, are creating a brand-new team of Specialist Nurse Advisors to cover the following territories:
Birmingham
Hertfordshire
Suffolk
2 x Lincolnshire
Stoke / Crewe / Derby / Nottingham
Chester / Crewe / Manchester
Essex
Northampton
Leicester & Derby

Role Responsibilities

  • Achieve satisfactory service levels across the project as defined by the client and in addition achieve their key performance indicators, sharing ideas with the team on maximising outputs.
  • Improvement of the patient experience including initiating measures to improve services provided.
  • Caldicott Guardian – ensure that you meet the highest standards whilst out in clinical practice.
  • Ensure infection control measures are taken.
  • Ensure that patients are always given the highest priority.
  • Report to the Director of Nursing and your Nurse Manager patient safety initiatives in relation to adverse events/adverse drug reactions.
  • Ensure that patient confidentiality/NMC obligations/Data Protection is maintained at all times.
  • Inform the Director of Nursing and your Nurse Manager of all patient/customer complaints to ensure thorough investigation/learning from complaints
  • Ensure to meet safeguarding for children and vulnerable adult accountabilities by undertaking the training and reporting any issues observed to senior management (lead safeguarding nurse).
  • Work on projects autonomously as dictated by the business.
  • To participate where required in clinical and nonclinical audits aimed at improving patient outcomes and the effective and efficient delivery of services.
  • To assist the Nursing Division with the continued improvement of clinical services and safeguarding high standards of care to contribute to creating an environment where clinical excellence will flourish.
  • Undertake the training and read policies in relation to; safeguarding, raising concerns, record keeping, consent and mental capacity, adverse events/adverse drug reactions, conflict resolution, BLS/AED and Anaphylaxis, and perform your role in accordance with this guidance, this list is not exhaustive.
  • Lead by example, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and compliance with professional codes of conduct and professional regulation.
  • Assist the Nurse Manager where applicable with training and supporting new Nurse Advisors to the Company.
  • Have experience in managing the disease area relevant to the area of practice currently working (minimum diploma level qualified). Nurse Advisor should ensure registration is maintained and knowledge remains up to date in that area.
  • Teaching and mentoring of Practice Nurses/other Health Care Professionals may be requested.
  • Run clinics autonomously and be responsible for the passing on of relevant clinical information to the data controller within the GP practice/hospital to the patients’ best interest.
  • Submit reports to the scheduling office and monthly paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Flexibility to meet business demand which may include the requirement to stay away from home on a regular basis.
  • Ability to use general practice/hospital computer systems.
  • Discussing individual patient note reviews to promote optimum care to patients.
  • Support and assist with the delivery of specialist chronic disease management/other medical condition clinics as well as run these clinics on their own.
  • Remain impartial at all times and not recommend any specific treatments or attempt to influence prescribing of any particular therapy.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions at regional and national level and contribute if required.
  • At all times respect patient confidentiality, adhere to the NMC Code and maintain NMC registration through revalidation requirements.
  • Deliver the Service in line with the nurse service brief and practice treatment protocols.
  • Undertake training/assist with Wellards training as required.
  • Deliver against internal key performance indicators.
  • Deliver projects to deadline.
  • Complete paperwork as and when required by the business.
  • Adhere at all times to the current ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Contribute to national business meetings/conference as required.
  • Assist with the gaining of CQC/UK equivalents where required and ongoing registration.
