An exciting opportunity has arisen with an agile, forward-thinking Pharmaceutical company that holds a strong track record of bringing high-quality innovative products to the Respiratory market. This leading organisation are seeking an organised and confident individual to take on the role as Events Manager, based primarily at Head Office in Cambridge. The aim of this role is to project-manage and oversee the organisation and the running of congresses and events sponsored by the company, within the UK and internationally.

Role Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customer and events manager and the brand teams to understand the company and brand priorities.
  • Work to develop a good level of NHS knowledge and customer insight to research and propose effective events programmes to achieve the needs of the brand priorities.
  • Liaise effectively with the sales teams and external professional bodies in order to develop deeper level of understanding to support event plan delivery
  • Compile congress calendar highlighting event details and brand activities.
  • Forecast the commercial events budget per brand for congresses in the given year and year ahead.
  • Responsible for overall commercial events budget spreadsheet ensuring all committed spend is accounted for and provide regular updates of spend to the team.
  • Responsible for arranging the sponsorship process for health professionals to attend congress and events, in close liaison with sales management, marketing and Medical. Ensuring the process is updated when appropriate in line with the ABPI guidelines and internal compliance.
  • Ensure relevant parts of the ABPI industry code are understood across the congress team by seeking regular update training. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for the team.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure all events and internal processes are compliant and running effectively. Attend and actively participate in cross departmental meetings.
  • Select and manage suppliers including negotiations, contracts, project management etc.
  • Project manage each event.
