Healthcare Development Manager - Respiratory & Diabetes - South & West Wales

Salary: Above average salary + excellent bonus/benefits

We are currently recruiting for a market leading Pharmaceutical organisation with an exciting new opportunity working as a Healthcare Development Manager within the Respiratory and Diabetes markets. This exciting role will be working across South & West Wales, and the successful candidate will deliver sales, Market Access and local priorities as agreed with the Regional Manager. Improve the prescribing environment for the PCBU portfolio by working with various NHS stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:
Results driven, with high levels of agility and personal accountability, self-motivated and a proven self-starter.
In depth knowledge of brand strategies as well as disease areas.
In depth knowledge of national and local NHS structure and changes within the NHS environment and able to utilise this to build strategic account plans.
Ability to identify, influence, develop and lead key influencers across the local health economy (Primary Care, Secondary Care, CCG, Health Board or National level) and build effective relationships with these individuals.
Demonstrate a proven ability to shape local medicines commissioning processes (e.g. Area Formulary listing) to ensure a positive outcome for our promoted brands.
Possess the ability to understand and disseminate relevant medical and scientific information appropriate to the audience.
Project Management experience – can demonstrate excellent organisation and administration skills.
Strong Commercial and business acumen, with excellent analytical ability.
In depth, relevant competitor knowledge.
ABPI qualified and up to date knowledge.
Networking skills with both internal and external key stakeholders.
Able to represent the company at local and national NHS forums.
Displays an awareness of government, public and industry affairs and how this shapes local opportunities of issues.
A current driving licence with no more than 6 points.

Role Responsibilities:
Accountable for ensuring that sales targets and defined objectives are met in designated geographical area in line with the area account plans.
Accountable for sales in key accounts across all levels of the NHS including Primary Care as required.
Drive projects to create a positive environment for all products by working to remove prescribing barriers, gain support from local and regional groups responsible for medicines commissioning. E.g. Area Prescribing Committees, CCG Prescribing Sub Committees. (Including variants applicable to devolved nations).
Build, develop and maintain strategic partnerships with defined customer groups in relevant therapy areas, who are responsible for and able to influence directly or indirectly the successful commissioning of the company's medicines.
Partner with relevant industry, academic and charitable networks that impact the business.
Influence and shape local commissioning policy to help deliver the local sales objectives.
Utilise knowledge and understanding of local prescribing and commissioning policy to provide support for the development of local area account plans.
Identify regional and national Key Opinion Leaders, including both Pharmacists and Commissioners, generating a panel of informed opinion which in conjunction with colleagues in the Business Unit can be used positively in a regional or national context.
To identify and action additional support from within the organisation, to resolve issues and take advantage of opportunities, that will allow for the accelerated growth of our products.
Working with the ABM and Account Managers to develop and implement the local area account plans, ensuring accounts are optimally resourced and managed.
Proactively hold regular business updates with ABM, to review performance against priorities, improve and make adjustments to current plans and discuss the potential impact of any local NHS environmental changes.
Improving access and relationships to Senior Medicines Management/Optimisation across the NHS to ensure access barriers are anticipated.
Utilise relationships with Senior Medicines Management/Optimisation to drive rapid Market Access to our future assets.
Network across PCO boundaries utilising relationships with Senior Medicine Management/Optimisation to share insight on prescribing policy and guidelines to improve the prescribing environment for our current and future assets.

Role Specific Competencies:
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Proven team worker.
Good strategic abilities, with evidence of how this translates in to planning and leadership ability at local and national level. (experience of strategic planning is desirable).
Strong organisational savvy and effective at building both internal and external relationships.
Advanced IT skills.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Creative thinker able to recognise and develop opportunities arising on a daily basis.
