Business Development Manager - Pharmacy Services - South East

Salary: Highly competitive package + bonus/bens

We are currently recruiting for a market leading Healthcare Services organisation with an exciting new opportunity working as a Business Development Manager within the Clinical Pharmacy market. This exciting role will be working across the South East UK. In this role, you will take responsibility for generating new business for the company by driving the uptake of existing and new company services at a strategic level to NHS organisations within the region.

Essential Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Pharmacist and have additional experience in a sales position working with NHS customers.
Our client may consider applications from non-Pharmacists, if you have experience selling to GPs, CCGs, GP Federations or AHSNs.
A proven track record in selling a healthcare service to the NHS is highly preferred.
Ability to take an account management approach to managing territory business.
Ability to manage the demands of a selling a service.
Ability to understand the work of Clinical Pharmacists and services they can provide to the NHS.
Enthusiastic, determined and flexible attitude with a willingness to cover a large geography.
A current driving licence with no more than 6 points.
Strong commercial awareness is essential.
Demonstrate experience of a flexible and adaptable attitude towards meeting and exceeding the requirements and needs of external and internal customers.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
Ability to analyse complex data to inform business development and commissioning decisions.

Role Responsibilities:
To generate uptake of existing company services through:
Facilitating reactive support to NHS organisations through approved platforms
Uptake of industry supported proactive services by an NHS organisation
Facilitating joint and partnership working programmes between industry and the NHS
Uptake of remote service offerings at a strategic level by an NHS organisation
Uptake of NHS contracted services
Driving uptake and patient recruitment objectives for our clinical research activities.
To ensure service introduction and facilitation meets all company, and where relevant, industry approved, regulation and governance for doing so.
To ensure new services meet the financial objectives and contractual terms and conditions as defined by the contracts department.
To work alongside the Market Access team to create strategy, plan and implement local tactical activity and attend key client meetings in order to generate new business for the company.
To work within the regional team to coach and develop the effective identification and development of strategic NHS decision makers to maximise the uptake of services within the region.
Maintain accurate, up to date and appropriate records in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system at all times, stratifying organisation according to income potential and strategic importance using the customer engagement model in the CRM. Utilise the CRM system to develop account plans, prioritise activity and maintain appropriate levels of regular, personnel and marketing contact, working with marketing colleagues to initiate, develop and support marketing campaigns as appropriate.
To communicate effectively within the regional team to ensure that the service aims and objectives, associated with new business for the region, are effectively understood. These communications should also aim to assist with regional resource planning and service delivery readiness taking account of new business pipeline.
To communicate effectively with the department leads across service design, regulatory, accounts, marketing, finance and clinical operations in order to ensure opportunities to further the company objectives are realised and support the correction of areas of underperformance within the bounds of company services, staff performance and systems.
To communicate effectively with industry representatives and budget holders involved in joint and partnership working programmes and with NHS organisations receiving the company's services.
To establish communications with key decision makers local NHS and industry sectors that support uptake and successful delivery of company services. This should include a network of NHS organisations to be given priority for new services as a result of successful historical service delivery and on-going communication.
To project manage new business delivery through the monitoring of activity data and outcomes to ensure budgetary commitments are achieved, business objectives are met, key stakeholders are engaged and internal communications are in place that support successful service delivery.
To review individual performance and objectives with the Regional Business Manager at regular meetings and work towards achievement of against individual target for new business.
