National Lead Clinician - Physiotherapy MSK services
Salary: Highly competitive package + carWe are currently recruiting for a market leading provider of rehabilitation services into occupational health, private health and the NHS. Our client has an exciting new opportunity working as a Lead Clinician within MSK Physiotherapy. This exciting role work nationally and will include regular travel.
In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of highest quality clinical practices across all clinical services delivered by our client.
Minimum Band 8 Physiotherapist.
Post graduate Masters in Musculoskeletal area or specialism.
Wide ranging physiotherapy experience at Advanced ESP level (e.g. approximately 3 years' experience or equivalent) both within the public and private sectors.
Ability to act as an expert in field to answer specialist questions when required by governance, heads of service or other experienced practitioners.
Experience in training clinicians up to and including ESP level with a range of experience and skills in both large and small groups.
Extensive experience working clinically within the orthopaedic specialty.
Significant Clinical Rheumatologist experience.
Proven wide-ranging experience in leading and delivering ESP models, triage models and ESP trained staff.
Independently creating and developing clinical pathways.
Substantial In depth clinical understanding and experience including demonstrated ability to deliver pragmatic business focused solutions drawing on experiences of what has worked in the past.
Excellent communication (both written and oral) skills to all levels of staff, including the ability to influence others, gain trust and inspire commitment.
A thorough understanding of the clinical strategy and plans for future growth, and the ability to develop and implement clinical strategy.
Ability to organise workload to be able to meet and exceed agreed targets, within agreed timeframes
Ability to build relationships with senior managers to ensure successful delivery of clinical strategy
A current driving licence with no more than 6 points.
Provide leadership and management of specialist clinical services e.g. ESP clinical models.
To provide advanced musculoskeletal expertise to be the experienced musculoskeletal ESP managing a complex clinical caseload. This will include:
Performing the triage of orthopaedic referrals from GP's directing the patient into the appropriate primary, secondary or tertiary care service according to clinical presentation.
The management of patients that would have traditionally been referred into secondary care orthopaedic services with spinal and peripheral problems and involves the use of advanced decision-making and clinical reasoning skills to perform clinical interventions that may fall outside the normal scope of physiotherapy practice.
The practice of medical diagnosis within the orthopaedic specialty, specialist investigation and limited prescribing which are outside the scope of physiotherapy practice.
Independent decision making regarding the clinical diagnosis and future clinical management of presenting patients through the assimilation of clinical assessment and the requesting and interpretation of the results of specific medical investigations such as X rays, MRI, USS and pathology tests.
To demonstrate a commitment to on-going professional development and to maintain a contemporary record of such activity, in line with recommendations of CSP and HCPC.
